Where to find birds

First and foremost, there are expert breeders within the club who specialise in their own areas (eg. Border/ Gloster/ Norwich canaries) so we would recommend that you approach them if you are interested in knowing more about/ considering buying birds.

However, we are aware of the following local alternatives but these are listed purely for additional information:

Nettlestead Bird Club table sale Open from 10:00 am at Nettlestead Village Hall, Nettlestead, Kent, (for satnav, use: ME18 5ES) on the 4th Sunday of every month except December.

Dates for 2020: 26th Jan, 23rd Feb, 22nd Mar, 26th Apr, 24th May, 28th June, 26th July, 23rd Aug, 27th Sept, 25th Oct, 22nd Nov. No December date.

Maidstone Sunday Bird Club Sunday table sale Open from 6:30pm at Larkfield Village Hall, New Hythe Lane, Larkfield, Kent, (for satnav, use: ME20 6ST), M20 Junction 4 on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm

It was formally announced in the 27 December 2017 edition of Cage and Aviary Birds that the Maidstone and South Eastern Counties Avicultural Society would fold at the end of 2017 but that the Sunday table sale would continue as the 'Maidstone Sunday Bird Club. This table sale will continue to meet at Larkfield Village Hall.

If looking on www.streetmap.co.uk, be aware that this points to the wrong side of the bridge. The hall is just up from the north side.
